I am afraid studies like this reinforce the greed that has taken over the housing market. Many of these homes have their capital paid for multiple times over several generations. Just because we can push people to the brink doesn't mean we should. Housing is a right. We can't legislate lower prices and subsidies only worsen the problem. As a former landlord, both commercial and residential, I know mortages can be paid off without the hurry. We hurt ourselves with this sort of agressive pricing. We need to educate people on "just" pricing.
